IGEN DIAGNOSTICS

With our technology, we are able to detect all diagnostic spectrum infectious diseases in a single kit, not only in humans but also in veterinary medicine and in the food industry.

Molecular biology techniques are the most powerful method for microorganism detection.

It is well stablished that many pathogens microorganism are “unculturable” and non-detection can be performed by standard microbiological techniques. With the reverse Dot-Blot methodology is possible detect viruses, bacteria, fungi and protozoa.

IGEN BIOTECH reverse Dot-Blot technique consist on a multiplex PCR where the product is specifically labelled during this process and subsequent hybridization on membrane. PCR products will hybridize with their respective specific complementary probes that are immobilized in specific sites, like “drops”, on membrane. Each probe, consists on specific fragment of DNA belonging to gene sequence chosen for each microorganism to detect.

The hybridization probes are done with own patented IGEN BIOTECH technology. Probes are single strand DNA fragments between 150 to 1.500 nucleotides length marked with uridin-digoxegenina.

Samples for use in this Diagnostic IGEN BIOTECH Kit are diverse: urine cervical swabs or tissue sections fixed in formalin and embedded in paraffin. Estimated time to report the results from receipt of the sample will be about seven hours.

Up to eighteen different DNA or RNA probes belonging to infectious agents, both bacteria and viruses is possible to immobilize in the same membrane.

IGEN BIOTECH STIs diagnostic Kit detects with a single sample: Chlamydia Trachomatis, Treponema Pallidum, Ureaplasma Urealyticum, Mycoplasma Genitalium, Herpesviridae type 2 and Neisseria Gonorrhoeae.

Other kits in development could include customized bacterial, virus infection detection Hemorrhagic Fever (Dengue, Lassa Fever, Marburg fever, Ricketsias, etc…), Acute Diarrhea (Noravirus, Rotavirus, Salmonella, Shigella, Campylobacter, etc…)

In the future, postulated markers found in the microbiota related with the diagnosis of colorectal cancer, will be available in our new detection platform.
