The biotechnology company Igen Biolab SLU has renewed for the fifth season its sponsorship, as part of its Socially Responsible Investment strategy (ESG criteria), of the concert society ‘La Filarmónica’, which presents its works at the National Auditorium in Madrid.
At the opening of the tenth edition -last November 17-, it was possible to enjoy Shostakovich’s Quintet, one of the most extraordinary works of the entire chamber repertoire. And as guests, were the mythical artist of the Philharmonic, Varvara and the Cosmos Quartet.
The concert series is completed with pianists Eudald Buch, Maurizio Pollini, Maria João Pires, Nelson Goerner, Martha Argerich; the work of the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra, with Valery Gergiev conducting, and Nelson Goerner at the piano; the instrumental ensemble Forma Antiqva, composed by conductor Aarón Zapico, Daniel Oyarzábal, at the organ, Guillermo Peñalver, on traverso, and Carlos Mena as countertenor.
This edition will also feature the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, with Andrés Orozco-Estrada conducting and Vilde Frang on violin; the SWR Stuttgart Symphony Orchestra, with Teodor Currentzis conducting and Antoine Tamestit on viola; the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, with Ádám Fischer conducting and Sir András Schiff on piano; and the Radio Sweden Symphony Orchestra, with Daniel Harding conducting.
